The European School of Linguistic Typology 2016

is organised by the Federation Typology and Linguistic Universals (FR2559 CNRS)

in partnership with the University of Cologne and the University of Amsterdam.

It offers a high-level qualifying training for researchers, lecturers, postdocs, PhD students and anyone wishing to develop their knowledge of linguistic typology, its objectives and methods.

It will be held at the IGESA Center on Porquerolles Island (southern France)
from September 4 to 17, 2016.

 

Objectives

  • Train or supplement the training of researchers, faculty, postdocs, PhD students and (selected) Master 2 students.
  • Integrate various theoretical and methodological approaches to describe and model the variation and typological invariants in the world's languages, in all linguistic domains, phonology, morphosyntax, semantics, psycholinguistics, etc.

  • Build up methodological advances and tools used in linguistic typology.
